Wrapping things up
Well, as the time comes to a close here in Slovakia, my heart goes through a million different feelings and emotions. This has been a year where I've been able to see God provide in ways that I could never ever imagine in my life. I've been able to experience His love, grace, and faithfulness beyond measure! I've been truly blessed to be able to live in a foriegn land, to be an outsider and know what it is to be secluded in a society as stares track me getting on the bus, tram, or just standing in a line. However, at the same time barriers have lessen and come down where relationships have been able to form. Although they may not have been completely removed, it was enough to be able to share our lives together. The infamous question this week from my high school students has been, "Miss Lamb what will you miss about Slovakia?" As I begin to reflect over this past year, and trust me I still have a lot of reflection to do, my immediate thoughts are that I will miss what this country and others have been able to teach me. For example, from my high school students to the older generation of SK, they've taught me the great importance of relationships, and what really matters, that it's ok to just sit and spend time with each other not having a distraction or excuse to get together, but to just be......to keep things simple, we sometimes make things so very complicated, but why, just keep it simple......as my brain processes these thoughts I've realized that I've changed, but how, I'm not sure what the answer to that question is at the moment, because there's been many changes.....however, I believe they were changes that He's allowed me to make for the better as some were easy and some were so very tough, but I've learned that tough and challenging is a good thing. As this year overseas comes to an end, at the same time it's a beginning of being able to reflect and take the lessons that have been learned onto another path in this amazing journey He gives to us.
